Devoid of Light

sachavonkarl74 Very late to the party, but for several years I've found melodic black metal all too similar and all albums sounding like Dissection, etc... HOWEVER, not only I am back into it but UADA is still a layer of complexity above the main baseline and this is an old album worth having, that's a basic milestone in UADA's discography and I felt it needed to be part of my BC collection. Favorite track: Natus Eclipsim.

elax Happens relatively never that I hear one song and just go and purchase the entire discography of a band.
My god this stuff is sooooo good.

about

From the darkness, UADA (meaning haunted in latin) emerges breathing the spirit of the original 90’s Black Metal wave. Since 2014, this Portland, Oregon four-piece has used a unique approach to combine raw black metal and spectral melodies.

April 8th 2016 manifested the release of the debut album “Devoid of Light”, it rekindles a flame and resurrects spirits from the past in pure blackness. Self-recorded by the band & then mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust). It features the artwork of Kris Verwimp and band photography by Peter Beste.

"dark waves of guitar melody that sweep through the music like a winter gale (and sometimes drift like a grave-side mist)" - NO CLEAN SINGING

"diabolical and deep, like a better-informed and more melodic version of De Mysteriis-era Mayhem. The result scratches the infernal itch perfectly, and will hopefully be embrace by both old- and new-schoolers alike." - METALSUCKS
